The pages in this section define the awards (and their requirements)
given annually at the Section 74 Conference. Unless otherwise
noted, a committee will determine who will receive these awards.
This committee will be formed at the Sectional 74 Conference,
and be comprised of one active member from each Chapter in
good standing and an advisor assigned by the Section Chair.
The Advisor shall hold no vote on this committee. The awards
committee will be chaired by the representative from the host
Chapter. If a representative from the host Chapter is not
present, then the committee will vote on an representative
to act as chair. The host Chapter will be responsible for
creating/providing any certificates/presentations for these
awards, announced at the Section 74 Conference Banquet.
Any questions about the awards submission process or the awards
selection process may be sent to awards@section74.org.
Unless otherwise noted, all events/programs submitted to the
awards committed must have taken place between the time of
the previous Section 74 awards committee meeting and the current
Section 74 Awards committee meeting.
Unless otherwise noted, all awards must be submitted before
the start of the awards committee meeting. The awards submission
should contain a written copy of the award submission. It
is also strongly suggested that the awards submission also
be in electronic format. It is not necessary for the awards
to be submitted in electronic format, but the awards committee
should give additional "weight" to electronic submissions.
Awards that can be submitted electronically will have links,
as well as directions, on the Section 74 website.
Note on electronic submissions
It is important for Chapters in Section 74 to have a resource
to help them in planning project and events. If "awards"
are submitted electronically, it is easier for projects to
be placed in "library" format. The committee when
talking about this idea envisioned a "web" site
where Chapters could get service project or rush ideas.
Chapters can have their members on the awards committee present
their submissions or they can have other chapter members make
the presentation. In any case the presentation is limited
to 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute question and answer period.
Personally making the presentation does NOT disqualify a Chapter's
representative from voting on the awards.
