The purpose of the Sectional Conference is to provide
opportunities for developing leadership; promoting friendship;
improving service; setting individual, chapter, and sectional
goals; and conducting whatever sectional business is necessary
and appropriate.
The Sectional Chair is responsible for ensuring that the
Sectional Conference occurs and for assisting the host chapter
with program planning and, as necessary, with any other details.
The chair is responsible for including in the January newsletter
the approved plan for the conference (dates, times, fees,
etc.) for the chapters to use in making arrangements to attend.
Other members of the Sectional Staff and Advisory Committee
are responsible for attending the conference and in helping
in any way possible, especially by being willing to lead sessions,
conduct seminars, etc.
The host Chapter is responsible for all details of planning
and producing the conference and for presenting the Sectional
Chair with a plan for the conference early enough for the
chair to make any necessary modifications and approve it in
time for publication in the January newsletter.
The Sectional Conference is held at some point during
the first four months of each calendar year. The host chapter
(and therefore the general location) and the approximate time
(usually the preferred month) for each year's conference are
determined by majority vote of the chapters present at the
previous year's conference. The exact location and dates are
set by the host chapter, with advice from the Sectional Advisory
Committee and approval by the Region IV Director.
